The Initial Game Pass Titles of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a relatively obscure console. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content about PlayStation as a new development. 2025 was complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Xbox still intends to engage players with quality releases on its flagship service.
The Available Now Titles
The duo of games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's truly noteworthy.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of frights and fights."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike offering thrilling gameplay, drops on Jan. 7th — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
In summary, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. There's a good mixture of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they deserved the first time around — rendering them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
