Mohamed Salah Offers Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the team following the fallout from his public comments.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a European match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the team's response remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also suggested that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “I understand there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the matches since the interview fallout. Jones believes the Salah's words were not intended to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a desire to win,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
