Jurgen Klopp admits a return to manage Liverpool is conceivable.
The German coach, who departed from Anfield in 2024, indicated that returning someday is a possibility. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-year spell which brought a European Cup triumph and ending the club's long wait for three decades, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer for Red Bull and as an advisor to Germany's league body.
Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks
The club claimed the Premier League last season, but many fans holding him in high esteem would embrace the idea that he might come back one day. In a wide-ranging interview, he explained to his interviewer: “I stated I will never coach a different club in England. Which implies in case it's my former club...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”
“Being 58, so I could make the decision down the line, who knows. Must I choose now? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe what lies ahead.”
What Would Lure Him Back?
Pressed on the specific conditions would need to occur to bring him back to management, he confessed he isn't eager to such a return. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don't crave being a coach; I avoid standing in the rain through long matches; I don’t miss going to media briefings multiple times weekly or having 10-12 interviews weekly.
“The locker room isn't missed in that context, however, dining out with the team having a nice chat, I appreciate that. With many victories thus frequently positive atmosphere in the building. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter ringing in my ears as an instance.”
Praise for His Successor
He commended of the current boss, acknowledging his role for the tweaks which secured the championship last term. Liverpool have lost four in a row in every contest following significant transfers, but he rubbished the idea that it might signal a decline.
“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker like Florian Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. He’s an incredible talent. Ekitike, incredible player. This is a well-built thoughtfully assembled roster. You don’t have to worry regarding the Reds, things will improve.”
Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota
The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, and its impact on Liverpool. The forward lost his life in a vehicle collision alongside his brother this past summer.
“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the team environment without him in it. I still cannot speak properly regarding this. A devastating blow for his teammates also. Not a single person will ever use it to justify results though it's a fact. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Handling this emotionally is difficult. Impossible.”
