Barça Ready for Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted an open training session inside the stadium earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
